VIDEO OF INTERVIEW

MADISON, Wis. -- Wisconsin women's cross country head coach Jim Stintzi joined the UW Athletics weekly press conference Monday and looked ahead to the third-annual Wisconsin adidas Invitational, which the Badgers will host Friday at the Zimmer Championship Course.

Archived video of the media session is available through the link above, and a complete transcript of Stintzi's remarks can be found below.

STINTZI: As Brian said, the third annual adidas Invitational is going to take place on Friday. We're excited about the meet. It's grown each year in the last few years. I think it started out at about 15 teams, 25 last year, and this year we have 39 in the men's race and 42 in the women's race from every region in the country and across the country.

There's a total of 878 athletes that are going to participate this weekend, and of those 39 and 42 teams, 20 men's teams are ranked in the top 30 and 19 women's teams are ranked in the top 30. So we're expecting what's arguably the best meet in the country, outside of the NCAA championships, this week in Madison. We think it's going to be a great, obviously, a test for both of our teams, and we're excited about the prospects.

QUESTION #1: It's kind of a lead-in to the Big Ten championships too, so you kind of get your feet wet a little bit, I guess, on your home course.
